Welcome to the New York Veterans Charity Golf Classic
Grateful Americans Charity (“GAC”), Jonathan Litt, Alan Litt, Thomas Lally, and Sam Sirota invite you to the 5th Annual New York Golf Classic, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Metropolis Country Club. GAC began in 2016 with a mission of providing resources that support ending Veteran homelessness and suicide, while combating the invisible wounds of war.
GAC raises funds to support the vital work of the PTSD Foundation of America in saving the lives of Veterans. America's Warrior Project (AWP) "Operation Deep Dive" research indicated that there are 44 daily Veteran suicides. In addition to Camp Hope in Houston, TX, the foundation chapters nationwide that help veterans find renewed purpose, earned college degrees, found employment, reunited with their families, and reintegrated back into society. With your support, we can end Veteran homelessness and suicide.

About/Directions
The original 18 hole golf course, designed by Herbert Strong, was later expanded when the noted golf architect A. W. Tillinghast redesigned the course, adding the current 7th, 12th, 13th and 14th holes. In the early 1970’s, architect Joe Finger reconfigured the 15th and 16th holes to accommodate some badly needed additional parking areas, and during 1998 and 1999 Joe Finger’s partner, Ken Dye, updated the course once again, lengthening the course to its current 6,827 yards. In 2013 the club hired architect Ron Forse to embark on a total restoration/renovation project. Under Ron's guidance, along with course superintendent David McCaffrey, the project was completed in the spring of 2015. The result of which has elevated the golfing experience at Metropolis to the finest in the Metropolitan area.
